Hi and welcome to our site. A little bit about the chimes on our site. First of all each SpiritSong Chime is digitally hand tuned and finished. For purity of tone and resonance the physics of sound have been applied resulting and a longer "ring time". For a durable chime to last for many years, special components are utilized. To produce the purest tone, these chimes are designed so the 'striker' hits the center of each tube. So chimes will resonate longer, they are suspended with an interior ring placed at the resonate node of each tube. I also use a heat treated aluminum alloy. This type of material will create a richer sound. These tubes are custom made for extra thickness so they will produce the purest tone. I hope that you will enjoy these instruments! |
